Le Masque Parfait
Le Masque Parfait is a psychological horror narrated by Lucian Hoffmann, a surgeon who believes himself incapable of cruelty. Obsessed with Rose Fontaine, a bookstore clerk on Rue de Rivoli, he studies her with the patience of a birdwatcher and orchestrates his way into her life behind a flawless mask of charm. As fascination becomes possession, Lucian transforms violence into art and control into devotion, revealing the terrifying mind of a man who mistakes beauty for virtue.
The novel explores themes of fractured identity, perfectionism, obsession, and self-deception through the eyes of an unreliable narrator.

Mari Montclair is an independent writer of psychological horror and literary dark fiction. Her work explores obsession, identity, beauty, and self-deception through unreliable narrators and psychologically complex characters. She draws inspiration from classical art, literature, and cultural history.
She studied Computer Science and works as an analyst when she isn’t writing.
Le Masque Parfait is her debut novel.
